Najeem Folasayo Salaam has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Osun State 2026 governorship election. The former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly was the sole aspirant in the party’s primary, which was held on Monday. According to Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, chairman of the Osun ADC Governorship Primary Election Committee, 535 delegates participated—482 from local government areas and wards and 53 special delegates. Of the 528 accredited delegates, 520 votes were valid and eight were declared invalid. Salaam secured all 520 valid votes, confirming his status as the party’s flagbearer.
The election committee chairman announced that, under the powers conferred by the ADC constitution, Najeem Folasayo Salaam is now the candidate‑elect and flagbearer of the party for the Osun 2026 governorship race.
