'Your road will continue to be rough' - NNPP Chairman to defectors

The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has reelected its National Working Committee (NWC) members, including National Chairman Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, to oversee the party’s affairs ahead of the 2027 general elections. The decision was taken at the party’s National Convention in Abuja, which was attended by notable figures such as Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, national leader Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, and observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The reelection of the NWC members was unanimous, as confirmed during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed emphasized the party’s commitment to building a strong, united, and prosperous democratic nation. He said the NNPP aims to offer a fresh start for the country and its citizens, presenting a new deal that prioritizes peace and prosperity. Following a period of restructuring and strengthening, the party now positions itself as a major stakeholder in Nigeria’s democratic process.

Dr. Ahmed urged the newly elected leaders at the state, zonal, local government, and ward levels to justify the trust placed in them by party members. He highlighted the party’s capacity to accommodate millions of citizens seeking a better Nigeria. Recent congresses at various levels have produced new leaders, and the national chairman stressed the importance of meeting citizens’ expectations, as many look to the NNPP to chart a positive course for the nation.

With the reelection of its NWC members, the NNPP is poised to advance its quest for a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria. The party’s efforts to reposition itself as a major player come as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. As it continues to strengthen its structures and expand its membership, the NNPP is likely to play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future, appealing to citizens who desire change and improvement in governance.
