The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that in Rivers State, members of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party have put aside their partisan differences to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Wike made this declaration during a visit to Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas, where he addressed leaders, youths, and women.
According to Wike, the collaboration between the two parties is driven by shared values, mutual respect, and a desire to deliver dividends of democracy to the people. He emphasized that political labels are no longer a priority, and unity and collective commitment to development are now the focus. Wike stated that in Rivers State, the APC and PDP have effectively merged into one family, the Renewed Hope family, and encouraged party members to work together towards a common goal.
The minister’s visit to the two local government areas was not for political campaigning, but rather to express gratitude for the people’s longstanding support. He commended the leadership of the local council chairmen, describing them as crucial to maintaining unity and political stability in the area.
