Rivers APC Defends Strategy Amid Calls for Wike to Join

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has voiced its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s New Year message, stressing that the administration will not be swayed by criticism from opposition groups. Party spokesman Seye Oladejo said the President’s address underscored the need for leadership that makes tough decisions in the national interest rather than seeking popularity or entertainment value. Oladejo noted that the speech demonstrated Tinubu’s grasp of Nigeria’s challenges and the courage required to confront them. He added that the era of economic mismanagement and deceptive governance is over, and that the Renewed Hope Agenda represents a genuine effort to reset the country’s trajectory.

Oladejo pointed out that, despite opposition criticism, Nigeria is making progress in several areas, including macro‑economic stability, investor confidence, infrastructure development, and national security. The party attributes this progress not to chance but to President Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to reform. He emphasized that the President will not be intimidated or distracted by those who offer only excuses and rhetoric, observing that the same individuals predicting doom today were responsible for the country’s past decay and have already been rejected by Nigerians at the ballot box.

As Nigeria’s economic and political hub, Lagos understands the need for reform and the importance of discipline, patience, and sacrifice in achieving progress. The Lagos APC has pledged to continue supporting and advancing the President’s agenda without apology. Oladejo urged Nigerians to remain focused and resolute, stressing that the country is moving forward with clarity of purpose and firmness of resolve. This stance signals a strong commitment to President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria’s future and a determination to push through reforms despite opposition.
