Iyabo Obasanjo Joins APC in Ogun State

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State. This development was confirmed by Biodun Ajayi, a former chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government and a close associate of Iyabo Obasanjo. Ajayi revealed that Iyabo completed her electronic registration on Tuesday at Ibogun, Ward 11, in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

According to Ajayi, Iyabo’s registration process was successfully concluded, marking her formal entry into the APC. The former local government chairman stated, “I can confirm that Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo completed her online registration as a member of our great party, the APC, on Tuesday at Ibogun Ward 11 in Ifo Local Government.” This move is significant, given Iyabo’s background and her father’s influence in Nigerian politics.

As a prominent figure in Nigerian society, Iyabo Obasanjo’s decision to join the APC is likely to generate interest and attention. Her father, Olusegun Obasanjo, is a former President of Nigeria who has been involved in the country’s politics for several decades. The APC, one of the major political parties in Nigeria, has been actively seeking to expand its membership and strengthen its presence in various states, including Ogun.

Iyabo Obasanjo’s entry into the APC may have implications for the party’s dynamics and strategies in Ogun State. With her registration now complete, it is expected that she will participate in party activities and potentially play a role in shaping the APC’s direction in the state. As the political landscape in Nigeria continues to evolve, Iyabo Obasanjo’s move is likely to be closely watched by political observers and analysts.

The APC’s efforts to attract new members and build its support base are ongoing, with the party seeking to consolidate its position ahead of future elections. Iyabo Obasanjo’s decision to join the party reflects the ongoing shifts and realignments in Nigerian politics, as individuals and groups navigate the country’s complex political terrain. With her registration now official, Iyabo Obasanjo is set to become an active member of the APC in Ogun State, potentially contributing to the party’s growth and development in the region.
