Blord relocated from criminals cell over health concerns - VeryDarkMan shares update

Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been relocated from a criminal cell at Kuje Prison due to health concerns. This update was shared by social media activist VeryDarkMan on Instagram. Blord had been remanded in Kuje Prison for 26 days by the Federal High Court in Abuja on multiple charges, including impersonation of VeryDarkMan and forgery. According to VeryDarkMan, Blord has been unwell since April 6, 2025, and was moved from “Egypt 2,” a high-risk section of Kuje Prison that houses armed robbers and other hardened criminals, to a segregation unit.

In his Instagram story, VeryDarkMan claimed that he and his lawyer have been accused of orchestrating Blord’s legal troubles. He stated, “Sowore and his allies don’t have the power to bring Blord out and discontinue the case like he claimed. We are willing to temper mercy.” These remarks seem to reference human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who had previously condemned the speed and manner of Blord’s remand, accusing VeryDarkMan and his legal team of engaging in oppression.

Blord is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency and tech space, maintaining a significant online following. His arrest and ongoing detention have sparked debate regarding the treatment of young entrepreneurs within Nigeria’s justice system. Legal experts note that this case highlights the ongoing tensions between social media influencers, activists, and the authorities, with each side using public platforms to shape their narratives.

The relocation of Blord on medical grounds may lead to increased scrutiny of prison conditions and the treatment of remand prisoners in Nigeria. As the legal proceedings continue, attention remains focused on how the courts will address the charges against Blord and whether any settlement or plea agreement might be reached.
