Ekiti State Police arrested six men suspected of belonging to the Alora Confraternity after a violent clash at a hotel in Ikere‑Ekiti on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The suspects were taken into custody by the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) following a disturbance that erupted during a meeting held in the early hours of the day. Police said the confrontation left one of the men, identified as Sucrose, with severe injuries; he was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
In a statement released on Monday, Police Public Relations Officer SP Sunday Abutu confirmed that the RRS, working with surveillance operatives from the Ilupeju Police Division, responded swiftly to the incident and apprehended the six suspects. The men were identified as Owolabi Oluwapelumi (28), David Adeleke (28), Oluwatoba Alo (30), Olamilekan Junior (27), Segun Bidemi (29) and Emmanuel Oladele (27). Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects admitted to being members of the Alora Secret Cult Confraternity.
During the operation, officers recovered a Toyota Camry, two face caps bearing the Alora logo, three plastic cups with the same logo, a blood‑stained shirt, a pair of scissors, a yellow hand band and a key holder featuring the Alora emblem. The Command also announced that it is continuing efforts to locate other suspects who fled the scene. In addition, Inspiration Hotel is under investigation for allegedly allowing its premises to be used for suspected secret cult activities.
Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, directed that the investigation be intensified and reaffirmed the Command’s zero‑tolerance stance against cultism and other violent crimes. He assured residents that the police remain committed to safeguarding lives and property through proactive policing.
The police urged members of the public to provide credible and timely information that could assist in the arrest of the fleeing suspects and other criminal elements. The Commissioner stressed that public cooperation remains vital to sustaining peace and security across Ekiti State.
