A chilling discovery in Adamawa State has led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man accused of killing his own father and hiding the body in a well. The suspect, Peter Sinamai, from Sangere in Gombi Local Government Area, was taken into custody by police operatives following a formal complaint that detailed the grim act.
The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the arrest on Friday, with spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje revealing that initial inquiries pointed to Sinamai as the perpetrator. The victim, his biological father, was allegedly slain before being dumped into a well located within the neighbourhood, a move that unsettled local residents.
Nguroje stated that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has since directed a comprehensive investigation to uncover the full circumstances behind the incident. In the meantime, the corpse has been retrieved from the well and placed in a mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The police have assured the public that once the investigation is concluded, the suspect will face charges in court. While the motive remains unclear, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice for the victim.
