Music executive DapperDam has publicly denied allegations raised by Nigerian artistes Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi, and T.I Blaze regarding contract disputes and payment irregularities. In a series of posts on his official X handle on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the executive rejected the claims and insisted that existing records would substantiate his position. He further challenged the artistes to submit their contracts and financial records to independent forensic audits.
DapperDam stated that he would not engage in public insults, emphasizing his commitment to the music industry. “I have nothing to hide. The records exist. The authorities have them. Let the process establish the truth,” he wrote. He accused the artistes of spreading misleading narratives online and asserted that they had chosen to leave the working relationship voluntarily. “You chose to leave! No one forced you, and we are still fine without you! Move on! Stop acting obsessed!” he added.
The executive detailed the origins of the professional relationship, noting it began in 2021 with his financial backing for the artistes’ initial projects before any music was delivered. “For the avoidance of doubt, this relationship began in 2021, and it began with me putting money down for your first project before getting any music from you. So who made who? God made me, nigga! Dapper Damm, Son of God!” he wrote, referring to Shallipopi as “Mr. Elon.”
Regarding financial transparency, DapperDam claimed an audit had already been conducted by a reputable firm. He dared the artistes to engage top-tier auditing and legal firms — including KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Templars, Aluko & Oyebode, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, and Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie — to conduct a forensic analysis of the accounts and contracts. “If e sure for any of you, make we go KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Templers, Aluko & Oyebode, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie. Any top law firm and auditing firm. Let them run a forensic analysis and interpret both the accounts and the contract for us, and tell you I cheated you!” he said.
He also disputed a specific claim concerning a scheduled appearance, alleging that Shallipopi failed to attend while he was present. “For our last scheduled appearance, you didn’t show up nigga. I was there, but you wanna come online and say, ‘let’s meet in court’, when you’re the one running from court,” he added.
DapperDam concluded by stating that he had made his position clear and that the relevant records remain available. “I have said what I need to say. The records are available. The appropriate processes are ongoing,” he wrote. The dispute highlights ongoing tensions in the Nigerian music industry over contractual transparency and revenue sharing, with the executive’s call for independent verification setting the stage for potential legal proceedings.
