Twitter has expanded into the finance world through a partnership with social‑trading company eToro, allowing users to trade stocks and cryptocurrencies. The collaboration was announced on Thursday via Twitter, where the company posted: “Very excited to be launching a new $Cashtags partnership with #Twitter which will enable Twitter users to see real‑time prices for a much wider range of stocks, crypto & other assets as well as having the option to invest through eToro.”

In an interview with CNBC, eToro confirmed that the new feature will be rolled out on Twitter that same day. The partnership will give Twitter users access to stocks, cryptocurrencies and other financial assets through eToro’s platform.

“As we’ve grown over the past three years immensely, we’ve seen more and more of our users interact on Twitter and educate themselves about the markets,” eToro CEO Yoni Assia told CNBC. “There is very high‑quality, real‑time content on financial analysis of companies and what’s happening around the world. We believe this partnership will enable us to reach new audiences and connect the brands of Twitter and eToro more effectively.”

An eToro spokesperson added that, with the partnership, Twitter’s cashtags will be expanded to cover a far broader range of instruments and asset classes.
