A video has emerged showing when the Department of State Services, DSS, took Godwin Emefiele, the ousted Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Media Talk Africa reports that Emefiele was first suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Friday before his arrest on same day.
Emefiele was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms.
Recall that the DSS made unsuccessful attempts to arrest Emefiele early this year.
Since then, the DSS has intensified its investigations in order to arrest and prosecute him.
His offense borders on allegations of terrorism financing and fraud.
In the video, Emefiele could be seen wearing a black native and matching cap as he steps out of a Hilux van and is escorted towards a waiting private jet at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.
