Police ban use of tinted glasses, covered number plates in Yobe

Yobe State Police Command has banned the use of tinted glasses and covered number plates by motorists in the state.

The ban was contained in an announcement issued to newsmen on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.

According to the assertion the Command additionally banned overloading by Keke Napep riders in the state, noting that the act is a big contributor to the crime and accident-related offences.

“Intelligence reports indicate that people with dubious characters hide behind tinted glasses to perpetrate crime, thereby concealing their identity from security operatives and good members of the public”, the Command mentioned.

The Command warned that operatives won’t hesitate to deliver perpetrators to e-book when they’re caught.

“The Commissioner of Police, therefore, gave all police formations and Divisional Police Officers across the state a marching order to arrest and prosecute motorists who violate any of the traffic regulations with effect from Monday 10th July 2023”, the assertion mentioned.

In the assertion, the State Commissioner of Police admonished motorists and different highway customers to stick to all laid down visitors laws and shun medication whereas driving.

He additionally urged them to cooperate with safety businesses in the state for the upkeep of legislation and order
