Nigeria earned only N188.03m from cargo conveyed via rail transport in Q2 2023 – NBS

Nigeria earned only N188.03 million from goods or cargo conveyed through rail transport in the second quarter of 2023.

This is according to the National Bureau of Statistics’ latest Rail Transportation Data (Q2 2023).

The figure represented a 105.04 percent increment from N91.70 million received in Q2 2022.

The volume of goods or cargos transported in Q2 2023 stood at 56,029 tons, compared to 31,197 tons recorded in Q2 2022.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Nigeria earned N1.10 billion from rail passenger transport in Q2 2023.
