Abba Yusuf: Benue NNPP unhappy with Kano Tribunal judgement

The Benue State chapter of New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP), has expressed its unhappiness with the verdict of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that invalidated the election of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The Benue State Chairman of the party, Group Captain Stephen Adah (Rtd) disclosed this while addressing journalists in Makurdi.

Adah said, as a body that is committed to promoting fair and just judicial practices, the party finds it perturbing that the verdict does not appear to epitomise these tenets.

According to him, “The NNPP government in Kano has put smiles on the faces of the oppressed in Kano, therefore, we call on the relevant authorities to launch an immediate review of the judgement in order to prevent a looming dispensation of unequally metered justice in the country.

“The pillars of our nation’s democracy are at stake and should not be treated lightly.”

He added that NNPP will appeal the judicial robbery against the good people of Kano, saying that at the end, truth and light must prevail against lies and darkness.
