New NNPP Chairman Promises to Hold Government Accountable in Abia

The newly appointed acting Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Anthony Kelechi Apugo, has pledged to provide constructive opposition in the state to ensure accountability in governance.

Apugo, who expressed his commitment to this cause at Ojukwu bunker in Umuahia following his appointment by the party, also appealed to former members of the party who had defected to other political parties in the past, urging them to return to NNPP and contribute to the rebuilding efforts he has initiated.

He further emphasized that his appointment, along with Kanu Amogu J. as the acting State Secretary, heralds a new era for the party in Abia State.

“Our primary focus is on holding the government accountable, advocating for good governance, and championing the interests of our people, while working relentlessly to secure future electoral victories,” said the acting NNPP Chairman.

He assured Abians of the unwavering commitment of NNPP to safeguard their rights and interests. He also stated that the party aims to revitalize democratic liberalism and become the preferred choice for every Abian striving for equity, freedom, and justice.

Apugo emphasized that the robust and constructive opposition provided by the party will enable Abians to achieve the governance they truly deserve.

The NNPP acting Chairman believes that his party will achieve remarkable success in future elections. He highlighted the implementation of mechanisms to address grievances of party members, stating that such strategies will aid in membership growth and ensure a unified focus.

Apugo acknowledged the visionary goals of NNPP founder, Boniface Aniebonam, including peace, freedom, and social justice. He also praised Ukpai Iro Ukpai, the former gubernatorial candidate of the party, as well as other candidates who flew the party’s flag in the previous general elections in Abia State.
