Wage award: Mount pressure on Osun govt to implement MoU – CSO to organised labour

Osun State chapter of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, has requested organised labour to demand from the state authorities an implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, on wage award it signed with the Federal Government.

This was contained in a letter signed by the Osun CDHR chairman, Emmanuel Olowu and addressed to the chairpersons of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Trade Union Congress, TUC, and Joint Negotiation Council, JNC, on Monday.

Media Talk Africa remembers that on October 2, 2023, organised labour signed an MoU with the Federal Government, a part of which is the implementation of the thirty 5 thousand Naira (₦35,000) wage award to all Federal Civil Servants.

“We therefore charge the leadership of the union to engage the state Government on the wage award implementation and press forward the struggles for a better Nigeria,” it acknowledged.
