Police Chief Issues Stern Warning to Political Thugs Ahead of Kogi Election

The Deputy Inspector General of Police responsible for overseeing the upcoming governorship election in Kogi State, Ahmed Habu Sani, has issued a stern warning to political thugs, cautioning them to steer clear of the electoral process on November 11.

Sani delivered the admonition on Thursday during a press briefing convened at the Command headquarters in Lokoja.

Reaffirming the readiness of security agencies to ensure a smooth and impartial election, the Police DIG emphasized that individuals instigating violence would face arrest and prosecution.

He stressed the importance of politicians adhering to the rules of the electoral process, underscoring the unwavering commitment of security agencies to ensuring transparency in the electoral process.

β€œAll security agencies will be deployed across the 21 Local Government Areas for this election, and they will be duly identified with specific tags,” he stated.

β€œI unequivocally state that anyone or any group planning to foment violence or cause disturbances before, during, or after the election should reconsider their intentions. Those apprehended will face consequences without prejudice,” he asserted.

Sani urged the residents of Kogi State to collaborate with security agencies to facilitate the peaceful conduct of the election.
