Governor Fubara Affirms Loyalty to Predecessor Wike

The incumbent governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, underscored his unwavering allegiance to his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, affirming that Wike remains his foremost leader.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during the rededication service of the 2023/2024 Legal Year of the Rivers State Judiciary at Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church on Hospital Road, Governor Fubara reiterated his support for Wike, who graced the event with his presence.

Addressing the recent political unrest in the state, Governor Fubara emphasized the need for tranquility, stating, “My oga remains my oga. Whatever that has happened is in the past. I have not sent anybody to malign anybody.”

Despite the challenging period experienced by the state, Governor Fubara expressed optimism that the current political discord would subside, assuring the populace of the fulfillment of his administration’s commitments to the people.

Furthermore, Governor Fubara cautioned his supporters against resorting to offensive language directed at perceived adversaries, emphasizing that he did not authorise any form of vilification. He conveyed that while striving for progress, obstacles will inevitably arise, but the key lies in “identifying the obstacles and eliminating them.”
