Hope Uzodimma Emerges Winner of Imo State Gubernatorial Election

Hope Uzodimma, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has clinched victory in the Imo State gubernatorial election held on Saturday. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made the formal declaration of his win on Sunday in Owerri, the state capital.

Prof Abayomi Fasina, the State Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, announced that Governor Uzodimma secured 540,308 votes, emerging as the clear winner, ahead of his contenders.

INEC disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, garnered 71,503 votes, placing him in a distant second position, while Athan Achonu, the candidate of the Labour Party, came third with 64,081 votes.
