In Oyo State, preparations are in full swing for the upcoming re-run election, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) taking delivery of both non-sensitive and sensitive materials. The election in Saki West State Constituency is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
The materials, which include ballot papers, result sheets, and replacement forms, were transferred to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Ibadan under tight security. INEC’s administrative secretary, Mr. Agboola Razaq, and representatives from major political parties were present to witness the receipt of the materials alongside other stakeholders.
Dr. Rahman Adeniran Tella, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, revealed that the Commission received six cartons of materials and confirmed the deployment of two BVAS machines and two backup machines for the election. Additionally, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Hamzat Adebola, has assured the deployment of 182 police officers to ensure security during the election.
The successful reception of these electoral materials signals progress in the preparations for the re-run election, raising expectations for a smooth and credible electoral process.
