Super Falcons Goalkeeper Urges Aggressive Approach Against Banyana Banyana for 2024 Olympic Qualification

Super Falcons goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi, is gearing up for a fierce battle against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana as Randy Waldrum’s team aims to secure a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games. The Nigerian team has not participated in the women’s football event for 16 years and faces a tough challenge against the current African champions.

Oluehi emphasized the importance of aggression in their approach, stating, “We just have to be aggressive. Take the bull by the horns, from the start to the finish. We have to be at our best. Everyone must fight for each other, everyone must help each other.”

Reflecting on past encounters with South Africa, where they have suffered three defeats out of four, Oluehi highlighted the need to not allow their opponents to dictate the game. She recalled a previous match where they allowed South Africa to control the game, leading to a late comeback that was too little, too late.

“We can’t relax and let them play. We have to take the fight to them. From the start to the end, we will hunt them so that they can feel our own heat and know that we really need this qualification,” Oluehi expressed in an interview with ESPN.com.

With the stakes high and the pressure on, the Super Falcons are ready to showcase their determination and fighting spirit as they strive to overcome South Africa and secure their place at the Olympic Games. The stage is set for an intense showdown between two fierce competitors vying for glory on the international stage.
