Amaju Pinnick Endorses Finidi George for Super Eagles Coaching Job

Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has thrown his support behind Finidi George for the vacant Super Eagles coaching position. The NFF has yet to announce a permanent head coach for the team following the departure of Jose Peseiro last month.

Finidi George recently led the Super Eagles in international friendlies against Ghana and Mali, with mixed results. Despite a loss to Mali, Pinnick believes that George, a former winger with a successful playing career at clubs like Ajax and Real Betis, is the ideal candidate for the job.

Pinnick praised George’s leadership, dexterity, and humility, highlighting his experience playing under top coaches like Luis Van Gaal and his success as a coach with indigenous teams in Africa. He emphasized the importance of building capacity around George to support his coaching efforts.

The NFF is expected to announce the new head coach for the Super Eagles in the coming month, with upcoming World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic on the horizon. George’s potential appointment brings excitement and hope for Nigerian football fans, as they look towards a bright future under his leadership.
