Siminalayi Fubara Vows to Revamp Education Sector in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, is taking decisive action to address the challenges facing the educational sector in the state. This commitment was highlighted during a thanksgiving service organized by the Okrika Local Government Area chapter of the ‘Simplified Movement’ to celebrate Fubara’s victory at the Supreme Court.

Following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Fubara’s election as governor in January, victory rallies have been held in each of the state’s 23 local government areas. Represented by Awajinombek Abiante, the member representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Fubara expressed concern over the neglect of the educational system, describing it as a deliberate attempt to keep the people in a perpetual state of ignorance.

The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving access to quality education, stating, “We have come to break the chain that has held us bound.” He announced plans to revitalize Okrika Grammar School and other educational institutions through a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Additionally, Fubara highlighted the elevation of two traditional stools to first-class status, signaling a commitment to honoring cultural heritage.

During the event, Chairman Adokiye Amiesimaka urged politicians to prioritize the interests of the people over personal gain, cautioning against self-aggrandizement. Former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, praised the governor’s peaceful approach to governance, emphasizing the need for unity and progress in the state.

The Bishop Diocese of Okrika, Enoch Atuboyedia, encouraged attendees to acknowledge God’s sovereignty and celebrate His role in current events. He emphasized the importance of gratitude and faith in driving positive change and development in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara’s unwavering commitment to educational reform and inclusive development sets a promising path for the state’s future. With a focus on unity, progress, and cultural preservation, his administration aims to uplift communities and empower residents through quality education and sustainable growth.
