Rio Ferdinand Urges Premier League to Address Manchester City’s 115 Charges Promptly

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has called on the Premier League to urgently address the 115 charges against Manchester City. Ferdinand voiced his concerns on the Vibe with FIVE podcasts following City’s celebration of their fourth consecutive league title on Sunday.

Despite their recent triumph, Manchester City faces serious allegations of financial misconduct between 2009 and 2018. The club has strongly denied any wrongdoing, and a hearing is scheduled for later this year.

Ferdinand stressed the importance of resolving the matter quickly for the overall “betterment of the game.” He urged the Premier League to “knuckle down” and handle City’s situation efficiently, noting that other clubs like Everton and Nottingham Forest have faced points deductions in less complex cases.

“The powers that be need to make sure that they finalise this as soon as possible,” Ferdinand said. “We’re seeing Everton and Nottingham Forest getting points deducted, and I know it’s a less complex situation.”
