Sporting CP Warns Chelsea: Ruben Amorim Not Leaving This Summer

Sporting CP has issued a stern warning to Chelsea, making it clear that manager Ruben Amorim will not be departing the club this summer. This comes as Chelsea begins their search for a new manager following the mutual departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

Ruben Amorim, who has led Sporting to victory in the Portuguese Primeira Liga this season and is on the verge of securing a domestic double with the upcoming Taca de Portugal final against Porto, is reportedly highly regarded by Chelsea’s management. Amorim also recently engaged in talks with West Ham, who are looking for a replacement for David Moyes.

During Sporting’s Primeira Liga title celebrations in Lisbon on Monday, the club’s president, Frederico Varandas, emphasized that Amorim is committed to staying with Sporting.

“Today, we have one of the best coaches in the world,” Varandas stated. “We have him today, we had him four years ago, and we will have him next year. It is not because of the financial aspect or the lack of interest from other clubs that he remains here, year after year. He stays here because Sporting is a club that provides protection, stability, conditions for success, and above all, happiness.”
