Harry Kane Reflects on England’s Struggles After Euro 2024 Draw with Denmark

England captain Harry Kane has offered an explanation for the Three Lions’ struggles following their 1-1 draw against Denmark in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Thursday.

Speaking to BBC, the Bayern Munich striker acknowledged that England faced challenges on and off the ball, suggesting that Gareth Southgate’s squad was performing below their best.

“I think we are struggling both with and without the ball,” Kane said. “I think the pressure in both games hasn’t been right and with the ball hasn’t been good enough. Everyone’s dropping below their levels a little bit. It was tough out there, but we are calm. It wasn’t our greatest game but we got away with a point.”

England initially took the lead against Denmark but were unable to secure a win, resulting in a draw. This performance followed a 1-0 victory against Serbia in their first game of the qualifiers.

With four points from two games, England currently tops Group C. Despite the mixed results, Kane’s comments reflect a need for the team to improve their form as they continue their campaign for Euro 2024 qualification.
