Wrexham Manager Phil Parkinson Celebrates Permanent Signing of Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has expressed his delight following the permanent transfer of Arthur Okonkwo to the club. Okonkwo, 22, who spent last season on loan at Wrexham from Arsenal, has now signed a three-year contract with the Red Dragons.

The young goalkeeper made 40 appearances across all competitions last season, achieving 16 clean sheets and helping Wrexham secure promotion to League One by finishing second in Sky Bet League Two.

“We’re delighted with the signing. It’s such an important one for us,” Parkinson said on the club’s official website. “Arthur was outstanding for us last year, and since the season finished we’ve worked really hard to secure the signing.

“It’s great credit to all the work that has gone on behind the scenes, because it’s never straightforward but we’ve always said it’s important to have perseverance to try and get your number one target – and Arthur certainly was that.

“It’s a great first signing of the summer for us.”
