Seth Mayi Set for Sunshine Stars Loan Move in 2024-25 NPFL Season

Nigerian Football Transfer News: Seth Mayi Set for Sunshine Stars Switch

In a major move, highly-rated Nigerian midfielder Seth Mayi is set to join Sunshine Stars on a season-long loan deal from Remo Stars. The talented midfielder has been struggling to get regular playing time with Remo Stars last season, and now, he will reunite with his former coach Kennedy Boboye, who he previously worked under at Akwa United in 2021.

Mayi’s time with Remo Stars has come to an end without a successful separation, with the club choosing against terminating his contract mutually. Despite not getting his desired minutes, Mayi is still regarded as one of the best young players in Nigerian football. Now, he is looking to resurrect his career at Sunshine Stars.

The opportunity to join the Owena Waves could not have come at a better time for Mayi, given his passion for playing for a team led by Coach Kennedy Boboye, under whom he tasted success at Akwa United. In the 2020-21 season, Mayi won the prestigious Nigeria Premier League title alongside his former coach Boboye at Akwa United.

Sunshine Stars’ new arrival is a welcome addition to their team, and football enthusiasts across Nigeria are already eagerly anticipating Mayi’s impact at the Owena Waves. With Mayi on board, Coach Boboye is set to reap the benefits of Mayi’s quality as they work together to secure top honors for the club in the 2024-25 season.
