Guerschon Yabusele Joins Philadelphia 76ers on One-Year Deal

In a significant move, French forward Guerschon Yabusele has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to multiple media reports. The 28-year-old player has signed a minimum contract worth $2.1 million, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Yabusele, who helped France secure a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics, has a strong track record in international competitions. He averaged 14 points per game throughout France’s Olympic silver medal-winning run and scored 20 points in the gold medal final against the United States, second only to teammate Victor Wembanyama.

The 6-foot-8 forward has played for Real Madrid since 2021, but had to resolve his $2.5 million contract with the Spanish team before he could return to the NBA. Yabusele was selected 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft and spent two seasons with the franchise before going back overseas in 2019.

Yabusele’s impressive performance in the Olympics, including a massive dunk over LeBron James, has earned him recognition as one of the few players to posterize the NBA great. His addition to the 76ers roster is expected to bring a new level of athleticism and scoring ability to the team.

With this signing, the 76ers have bolstered their frontcourt depth and added a versatile player who can contribute to their offense and defense. Yabusele’s experience playing in the NBA and his success in international competitions make him an exciting addition to the team.
