Ndidi Vows Revenge as Super Eagles Face Benin Republic in Uyo

Super Eagles Seek Revenge Against Benin Republic in Upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier

Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi has sent a strong message to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic, stating that the Super Eagles will be seeking revenge when they face off in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on September 7.

The highly anticipated match will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, and is expected to be a thrilling encounter. The Cheetahs pulled off a surprise 2-1 win over the Super Eagles in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in May, but Ndidi believes that the result will be different this time around.

“We know we haven’t done as well as we wanted in the World Cup qualifiers, but we’re ready to make things right in Uyo,” Ndidi said in a short video posted on the Super Eagles X account. “They had their win in Abidjan, but we’ll see what happens in Uyo. Don’t worry; we’re prepared.”

The September 7 match is a crucial encounter for both teams, as they look to book their spots in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. With the Cheetahs looking to build on their recent win, the Super Eagles will be determined to put things right and get back to winning ways.

Will the Super Eagles be able to exact revenge against their West African neighbours? Only time will tell.
