Super Eagles Ramp Up Preparations for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

Uyo, Nigeria – The Nigerian national football team, Super Eagles, has kicked off its preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. Eleven players have already arrived in camp in Uyo, with the remaining 12 expected to join on Tuesday.

Among the early arrivals were captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, and Taiwo Awoniyi, who all checked in on Monday morning. Caretaker head coach Augustine Eguavoen, who was in Belgium, also made his way to Uyo on Monday, along with one of his assistants, Fidelis Ilechukwu.

The last player to join the camp was Victor Boniface, a forward for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, who arrived on Monday night. The team will have its first official training session at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles are gearing up for a crucial set of matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda, with the team looking to secure a strong start in the qualifiers. With a mix of experienced players and newcomers, the team is expected to put up a strong challenge in the upcoming matches.
