The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Sunday that overcrowded polling units will be decongested by allocating voters to smaller units within the same location on election day. This measure is intended to streamline the voting process and create a more pleasant, stress‑free experience for voters.

In exercising its powers under Section 40(2) of the Electoral Act 2022, INEC has reassigned voters from congested polling stations to less crowded ones. Voters are urged to verify their registration and polling‑unit location in advance. They can do so through the INEC Voter Verification System at www.cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs or voters.inecnigeria.org.

Additionally, the list of registered voters for each of the 176,846 polling units nationwide will be displayed at the respective polling stations before Election Day. Eligible voters are encouraged to visit their assigned polling unit, check that their name appears on the register, and confirm the exact location where they will cast their vote.
