The Mining Entrepreneurship Stakeholders have urged the Federal Government to expedite compensation for the takeover of a business premise in Karshi, Abuja. Speaking on Monday, the Chairman of the Mining Stakeholders, Aminu Sani Inuwa, explained that the land in question houses a quarry operated by Mini Corporation Ltd. The Federal Government seized the property to build an ultra‑modern correctional service facility.

Inuwa described the quarry as a 0.8‑square‑kilometre site that is “one of the best” in terms of modern technology and computerised sophistication. It is capable of producing 2,500 tons of granite, boulders and dust daily. According to Inuwa, the government took over the property after only a month of quarry operations.

He appealed for swift action on the compensation demand, stating: “We appeal for the Federal Government’s quick action on the demand for compensation over the takeover of our land and business premises for the ongoing construction of a correctional facility at Karshi, a border community between the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State.” He added that the land and business premises are a quarry company in which some stakeholders have shares, while many others run supply and transportation businesses.
