Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has named his Premier League Team of the Season, so far.
Currently eleven matches have been played in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Liverpool are at the top of the English top-flight table ahead of Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
However, when asked to pick his Premier League Team of the Season so far, Shearer did not pick any player from Arsenal and Manchester City.
The former England striker went with a 4-3-3- formation for the XI.
Starting with the goalkeeper, Shearer picked Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels as his best this season.
Shearer said via Premier League’s official website: “Outstanding all season, pulling off some vital stops and commanding the box so well for a Forest side who have the second-best defensive record in the league.”
In the defense, Shearer picked Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk – along with Nikola Milenkovic of Nottingham Forest and Antonee Robinson from Fulham.
In the midfield, he picked Chelsea duo Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer alongside Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.
In the attack, Shearer picked Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Nottingham Fores’s Chris Wood.
He then picked Liverpool’s Arne Slot as the best manager so far.
