The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, addressed a crowd in Lagos on Tuesday, pledging to work hard for Nigeria. He highlighted that President Major General Muhammadu Buhari had “worked hard” to secure his victory in the February 25 election and promised to fulfill all the commitments made during the past 96 days of nationwide campaign rallies.
Tinubu made these remarks at the grand finale of the APC campaign rally held at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State. He said his administration would give hope to the hopeless and create opportunities for the downtrodden. President Buhari, who did not speak to the audience, simply raised his hands in endorsement of Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
The rally marked the final leg of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign, occurring one day before the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission for all candidates to conclude their campaigns. It also took place four days before the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Although the campaign has taken the APC flag bearer to all 36 states of the federation, President Buhari has attended only ten of those rallies. To date, he has visited Sokoto, Katsina, Imo, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Bauchi, Yobe, Gombe, Plateau, and Lagos states.
