U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the 2026 G20 summit will be held at his Trump National Doral Miami resort. The declaration came during an Oval Office event, where the president praised the venue’s amenities. Located just outside Miami, the resort boasts a golf course, spa, restaurants, pool, and roughly 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom.
The G20 comprises 19 countries, the European Union and the African Union. U.S. officials estimate that the 2026 meetings will occur in early to mid‑October, though exact dates have not been finalized. President Trump will not attend the summit in South Africa this year; Vice President JD Vance will represent the United States. Trump previously attempted to host the 2020 G7 at Doral but later withdrew the proposal.
In addition to the summit, Trump National Doral has been chosen to host the 2026 Miami Championship on the PGA Tour schedule, marking the tour’s return to the venue after about a decade. The resort spans more than 600 acres and features four championship courses—Blue Monster, Golden Palm, Red Tiger and Silver Fox. The Blue Monster course has a storied history, having hosted legends such as Billy Casper, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan. The Doral Open was held there from 1962 to 2006, followed by the WGC Cadillac Championship from 2007 to 2016.
The Miami Championship, scheduled for April 27 to May 3, will be a signature event on the 2026 PGA Tour calendar, offering 700 FedEx Cup points to the champion. Selecting Trump National Doral as the host for both the G20 summit and the Miami Championship underscores the resort’s reputation as a premier destination for international events and major golf tournaments. With its extensive facilities and rich golfing heritage, the resort is poised to play a prominent role in both political and sporting arenas.
