Premier League striker Tolu Arokodare struggles with physicality

Tolu Arokodare has shared his initial impression of playing in the Premier League, describing it as a distinct experience. The Nigerian international recently joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from KRC Genk in the Belgian Pro League on the final day of the transfer window.

Arokodare made his debut for Wolves in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park, where he faced a challenging matchup against Dan Burn. He had another tough encounter with Everton’s James Tarkowski in a Carabao Cup match on Tuesday night. The striker acknowledged that his debut was a physically demanding experience, likening it to a wrestling match.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Arokodare stated, “In the first game, it was like WWE. I started to think, ‘Okay, that is how it is here. You have to literally punch someone in the face!’ I am getting to grips with that.” This comment highlights the significant adjustment he is making to the competitive nature of the Premier League.

Arokodare’s move to Wolverhampton Wanderers marks a new chapter in his career, and his experiences will be closely watched by fans and pundits alike. As he continues to adapt to the physicality and intensity of the league, it will be interesting to see how he navigates the challenges ahead. With his debut behind him, Arokodare will look to build on his early performances and make a lasting impact in the Premier League.
