Governors want to deliberately kill PDP - Suswam

Former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has denied reports that he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He made the clarification during a visit to Prof Saasongo Nongu’s residence in Makurdi on Sunday, stressing that abandoning the ADC without the consent of his loyal supporters would be a betrayal and beneath his political stature. Suswam emphasized his dedication to strengthening the party and expanding its influence across Benue State and beyond, urging members to rally behind a leader he described as visionary and dependable, capable of upholding the ADC’s ideals.

Suswam’s loyalty is significant given his prominence in Benue politics; his continued support boosts the party’s morale and helps calm speculation about his political future. In response to Suswam’s endorsement, the leader he backed, Mzondu, expressed gratitude for the former governor’s mentorship and guidance, pledging continued loyalty to both Suswam and the ADC and acknowledging Suswam’s pivotal role in his career.

The development is a positive sign for the ADC, which has been working to strengthen its presence in Benue State. With Suswam’s commitment and Mzondu’s leadership, the party is poised to make significant gains in the region. As Nigeria’s political landscape evolves, retaining key figures like Suswam will be crucial to the ADC’s success, highlighting the importance of loyalty and commitment in the country’s politics. Suswam’s public affirmation of his loyalty underscores the value he places on his relationship with the party and its supporters, and his actions will continue to be closely watched.
