Tinubu Support Group Launches in Benue State

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has launched the President Bola Tinubu Support Group 2027 in Makurdi, Benue State. Represented by Senator Jacob Gyado, Akume noted that President Tinubu has gained the confidence of Nigerians through the implementation of people-centric policies and projects. He expressed optimism that Benue and the North-Central region would strongly support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Akume emphasized the importance of political experience and leadership, stating that the Tiv people should have a seasoned leader. He highlighted his own political achievements, including producing three consecutive governors and several senators. Senator Titus Zam, representing Senate President Godswill Akpabio, praised President Tinubu for appointing the first-ever Secretary to the Government of the Federation from the North-Central region, demonstrating his inclusive leadership style.

Zam noted that President Tinubu’s policies have positively impacted various sectors, including education and governance. He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and the removal of fuel subsidies, which have enabled governors to access funds for project execution. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, represented by Dickson Tarkigir, urged Nigerian youths to embrace peaceful and progressive politics, highlighting President Tinubu’s affection for the people of Benue.

The Chairman of the Benue APC Elders Council, Chief Simon Shango, expressed concern over the ongoing crisis within the state chapter of the party, calling for change in 2027. The convener of the support group, Mr. Mathias Byuan, emphasized that Benue and the North-Central region have reasons to support President Tinubu, citing his appointments of 24 Benue indigenes to key federal positions and ongoing infrastructure projects in the state.

The launch of the support group underscores the growing momentum behind President Tinubu’s potential re-election bid. With the 2027 elections approaching, political alliances and support groups are likely to play a significant role in shaping the country’s political landscape. As the political climate continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how President Tinubu’s support base will impact his chances of re-election.
