The National Association of Electronic Media Presenters of Nigeria, Imo Chapter, has recognized Governor Hope Uzodinma’s efforts in combating drug abuse with an “Exceptional Public Service” award. The award was presented to the governor in Owerri on Saturday by the state chairman of the group, Jerry Osuji.

According to Osuji, the award acknowledges the governor’s commitment to fighting narcotics and drug trafficking, and his efforts to create a drug-free future for Imo’s youths and communities. Under Governor Uzodinma’s leadership, the Imo Government has intensified awareness campaigns, collaborated with law enforcement agencies, and established rehabilitation centers to support victims of drug abuse. The administration has also partnered with community leaders, schools, and religious organizations to educate young people about the dangers of substance abuse.

The award was received on behalf of the governor by his Special Adviser on Narcotics and Illicit Drugs Monitoring, Chief Ezechukwu Obonna.
