The North-Central All Progressives Congress Forum has congratulated former Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, on his appointment as the Renewed Hope Coordinator for the North-Central region. President Bola Tinubu recently appointed six zonal coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative Committees, aimed at advancing his administration’s developmental vision across the country.
Al-Makura’s appointment was described as well-deserved by the North-Central APC Forum, citing his capacity and track record to effectively handle the assignment. The Forum pledged its full support for the ex-senator and called on stakeholders in the North-Central region, including state governors and party leaders, to cooperate with him. The coordinators are expected to spearhead strategic engagements, mobilization efforts, and developmental interventions across the regions in line with the President’s vision for national renewal.
The North-Central APC Forum thanked President Tinubu for appointing Al-Makura, stating that he could not have made a better choice. Al-Makura’s appointment is seen as a significant step towards the actualization of the Forum’s pledge to deliver six million votes for Tinubu in 2027. The Forum noted that Al-Makura’s track record makes him the ideal person for the role, having served as a two-term governor, senator, and founding member of the APC.
Al-Makura has discharged critical party assignments, including serving as Chairman of the Ekiti State APC Primary Election Committee and the North-East Zone Reconciliation Committee. He has also served as a member of the Bisi Akande-led APC Reconciliation Committee. The Forum highlighted Al-Makura’s rich experience and knowledge of political activities, having held various positions in different parties, including the National Party of Nigeria, National Republican Convention, and the Peoples Democratic Party.
The North-Central APC Forum also congratulated Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on his appointment as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilization, as well as the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Ambassador. Uzodinma is expected to work closely with the leadership of the APC and state governors to champion the achievements and programs of the Tinubu administration.
The Forum expressed confidence that those appointed by the President to supervise the Renewed Hope Initiative will discharge their mandate effectively and position the APC for victory in upcoming elections, particularly the 2027 election. With Al-Makura’s appointment, the North-Central APC Forum is optimistic about the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the re-election of President Tinubu for a second term in office.
