A member of the All Progressives Congress National Working Committee, Tolu Bankole, praised Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, calling him the best governor the state has ever had. Bankole said the Abiodun administration has turned Ogun into Nigeria’s industrial hub through effective policymaking, fiscal discipline and inclusive leadership.

During an end‑of‑year media chat, Bankole highlighted the state’s significant economic growth. Internally Generated Revenue rose from ₦100.7 billion in 2021 to ₦146.0 billion in 2023, while the state’s Gross Domestic Product increased from ₦2.9 trillion in 2021 to ₦7.3 trillion in 2024—more than a 150 % rise. He attributed this expansion to the government’s visionary policies, investor‑friendly environment and infrastructural development.

Bankole noted that over 600 kilometres of roads have been constructed or rehabilitated, including the Denro–Ishashi–Akute road and several township networks, improving mobility and facilitating trade. He also commended the governor’s efforts to enhance the learning environment, empower farmers and provide affordable housing through site‑and‑service schemes.

The APC chieftain said the administration’s commitment to economic diversification has attracted major manufacturing players, expanding opportunities in mining, agro‑processing and technology. He emphasized that Governor Abiodun’s leadership has maintained peace in the state for six years, enabling effective governance and harmonious coexistence among party structures.

Bankole praised the governor’s prudent resource management, strategic partnerships and long‑term planning, which prioritize citizens’ welfare. He urged residents to support Governor Abiodun in 2026 and beyond, citing his legacy as a model of inclusive growth, transformational leadership and excellent governance. With these achievements, Ogun State has set a new benchmark for good governance, and Bankole believes the governor’s legacy will serve as a reference point for future leaders.
