Uba Sani preaches unity at Kaduna’s Christmas carol

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State attended the 2025 Christmas carol organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government. The event, held at the Umaru Yar’Adua Conference Centre, fulfilled his promise made last year to attend subsequent editions of the carol until the end of his tenure. Various Christian denominations participated, offering prayers and songs performed by different choristers.

The governor noted that this was his third time sharing the “sacred moment with the Christian family” in Kaduna State, emphasizing that faith remains a bridge to unity, healing and collective progress. He highlighted that Christmas celebrates love, sacrifice, humility, compassion and self‑less service—virtues that transcend religious boundaries and speak to shared humanity. Attending the carol, he said, was a matter of choice, conviction and commitment, as such gatherings renew hope and reconnect people to timeless values.

Governor Sani expressed gratitude to religious leaders and the faithful across Kaduna State for their prayers, counsel and commitment to peace, which have sustained stability in the state. He also used the occasion to highlight his administration’s achievements. In the first phase of the road‑infrastructure programme, 85 roads covering 785 kilometres were completed; the second phase launched more than 50 additional roads and bridges spanning over 550 kilometres. As a result, 18 local government areas are now linked by modern roads, compared with only 12 areas that lacked motorable roads for over a decade before his tenure.

The administration has also upgraded 255 Primary Health Care Centres to Level Two status—the highest number achieved by any state in Nigeria—improving maternal and child health outcomes by providing well‑equipped facilities within communities. A new 300‑bed specialist hospital named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been commissioned. In agriculture, which contributes over 42 percent of Kaduna State’s GDP, budgetary allocations have risen dramatically, from less than one percent in 2023 to over ten percent in the last two years. Governor Sani thanked the President for selecting Kaduna State as the pilot for the Nigeria‑China Poultry Project, calling it a vote of confidence in the state’s stability, capacity and leadership.

The Christmas carol event, he said, symbolizes openness, inclusion and progress. Governor Sani reiterated his commitment to serving all people of Kaduna State—regardless of faith, ethnicity or political affiliation—and to continuing his administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure, healthcare and the economy.
