Nafiu Bala Gombe’s ADC Faction Inaugurates North-East Committee

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has taken a significant step towards expanding its presence and promoting internal democracy with the inauguration of its North-East Zonal Congress Committee. The ceremony, held in Gombe State on January 11, 2026, was presided over by Dr. Muhammad S. Muhammad and marked a crucial milestone in the party’s efforts to strengthen its structures and ensure transparent congresses across the region.

According to a communique issued by the party’s National Leadership, led by Nafiu Bala Gombe, the inauguration is part of a broader strategy to promote national rebirth and good governance. The party ratified and inaugurated key officials, including Engr. Mrs. Patience Alex as Chairperson of the North-East Zonal Congress Committee and Mr. Abayomi Adekunle as Chairman of the Zonal Appeal Committee.

In a move aimed at bolstering its ranks, the ADC has extended an invitation to several high-profile politicians to join the party. These include former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, as well as serving governors such as Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State. The party believes that the experience and leadership of these individuals would be invaluable in its mission to rebuild and reposition Nigeria.

The ADC has reiterated its commitment to providing a credible and inclusive platform for Nigerians, dedicated to promoting good governance, national unity, and sustainable development. With its focus on mobilising support across all regions, the party aims to anchor a new political direction that prioritises accountability, equity, and collective aspirations.

As the ADC continues to expand its presence and mobilise support, its efforts are likely to have significant implications for Nigeria’s political landscape. With its emphasis on internal democracy, national rebirth, and good governance, the party is poised to play a key role in shaping the country’s future. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the ADC’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance is likely to resonate with Nigerians seeking a new direction for the country.
