The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has announced the promotion of 26,122 officers within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), describing the mass advancement as a critical morale booster and a formal recognition of officer dedication and professionalism. The promotions, which span various ranks, were detailed in an official statement issued on Thursday, February 6, 2026.
According to IGP Egbetokun, the promotions are a direct reward for consistent performance, discipline, and hard work demonstrated in the line of duty.
