Nasarawa Amazons Chairperson Thanks Fans Amid Playoff Push

Lafia, Nigeria – Hajiya Hussaina Sulieman, chairperson of the Nasarawa Amazons, has publicly thanked the club’s supporters as her team battles for a playoff spot in the Nigeria Women’s Football League.

The Lafia-based side currently occupies second place in Group B with 19 points from 10 matches. Their position places them in contention for one of the three available qualification slots to the league’s Super Six playoff, which determines the national champion.

Sulieman acknowledged the crucial role of fan backing during a media briefing. “Thank God Almighty for His continued support. We appreciate everyone standing behind the team,” she stated. Her comments come as the Amazons prepare for a critical upcoming fixture.

The team’s next league match is against Dannaz Ladies, scheduled for Wednesday in Lafia. Sulieman expressed confidence ahead of the contest. “We are confident of a good result against Dannaz Ladies,” she added, highlighting the squad’s focus on securing points that would strengthen their playoff aspirations.

The Nigeria Women’s Football League operates on a group stage system, with the top finishers in each group advancing to the Super Six. Nasarawa Amazons’ strong standing in Group B underscores their competitive form this season, though the race remains tight. Each remaining match carries significant weight in the final qualification standings.

Victory on Wednesday would consolidate their top-three position and enhance their momentum heading into the final rounds of the regular season. The club’s management continues to emphasize unity between players and supporters as a key factor in their pursuit of a Super Six berth.

The match against Dannaz Ladies represents a direct opportunity to gain ground on rivals and maintain pressure at the summit of the Group B table. Results across the group will ultimately decide which teams progress to the championship playoff phase.
