Femi Otedola Reveals Tinubu Was Working on Easter Sunday

Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has revealed that President Bola Tinubu was working on Easter Sunday during a meeting with prominent business leaders. The disclosure came in a statement posted on social media platform X on Monday, following a visit to the President by Otedola and Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group.

According to Otedola, the discussions focused on Nigeria’s economy and strategies to ensure citizens benefit from the ongoing reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration. He described the President’s commitment to governance, even on a public holiday, as a source of hope for the nation’s future.

“Yesterday (Sunday), I spent Easter Sunday with our dear president, Bola Tinubu, and my bestie Aliko Dangote. We discussed the economy and how Nigerians can benefit from the reforms,” Otedola wrote. “On a day of resurrection and renewal, Mr. President was still working. That kind of commitment gives you hope for Nigeria.”

Otedola, who serves as Chairman of First Bank Holdings, is one of Nigeria’s most influential business figures. His meeting with President Tinubu and Dangote—Africa’s richest man—underscores ongoing dialogue between the government and private sector leaders on economic policy and national development.

The Tinubu administration has introduced several economic reforms since taking office, including currency unification and the removal of fuel subsidies, measures aimed at stabilizing Nigeria’s economy but which have also sparked public debate over their immediate impact on living costs.

The meeting highlights continued engagement between Nigeria’s political leadership and its business elite as the country navigates complex economic challenges and seeks to attract investment for long-term growth.
