Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has commissioned a new banquet hall named after Brigadier General Abba Kyari (rtd) in recognition of the former military governor’s contributions to northern Nigeria. The facility was unveiled at a ceremony attended by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima and is intended to serve as a venue for high‑level dialogue, partnership building, and the projection of Kaduna State’s governance vision.
Governor Sani described the hall as more than a physical structure, framing it as part of a deliberate strategy to strengthen the state’s institutional capacity. He said the venue will host consequential conversations and reinforce Kaduna’s readiness to engage with ideas and alliances that drive development beyond its borders. According to the governor, the Vice President’s remarks affirmed Kaduna’s reputation as a model for effective governance, balancing citizen welfare, impactful policies, and institutional legitimacy. He emphasized that such infrastructure is integral to modern leadership rather than merely ornamental.
The naming honors Brigadier General Abba Kyari, the first and longest‑serving Military Governor of the former North‑Central State, which later became Kaduna State. Governor Sani highlighted Kyari’s legacy of discipline, clarity of purpose, and steadfast service, noting that the gesture was warmly received by his family. Officials say the hall will symbolize continuity, linking historical leadership with the state’s aspirations for inclusive and progressive governance.
