The Imo State Government announced on Friday that 66,003 people are currently benefiting from the state’s health insurance policy. Uche Ewelike, Executive Secretary of the Imo State Health Insurance Agency, explained that the policy aims to ensure all citizens and residents have access to quality healthcare services. He praised Governor Hope Uzodimma for approving the program’s launch, noting its impact across the state.

Ewelike highlighted that residents from Mbaise, Mbano, Owerri Municipal, Orsu, Okigwe, Nwagele, Oru East, Mbaitoli, Nkwerre, Oguta, Ngor Okpala, Orlu, Ohaji Egbema, and the 27 local government areas have been able to access free healthcare through the agency since April 3rd. He commended Governor Uzodimma, stating, “The governor of Imo State, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has done well. This is bringing quality healthcare services to the doorsteps of the people of the state. History will be kind to him.”
