Ukraine war: Zelensky visits International Criminal Court

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague, issuing an international arrest warrant in March for Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.

Zelensky arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday evening for an unannounced visit.

The Ukrainian president travelled to the Netherlands from Finland, where he met with Nordic leaders.

On his first official visit to the Netherlands, he is expected to give a speech on Thursday on the topic of “No peace without justice for Ukraine’’.

Talks are also scheduled between Zelensky and Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte and Defence Minister, Kajsa Ollongren.

On Thursday morning, Zelensky was received by the Dutch parliament and spoke with lawmakers.

The Netherlands had so far provided around €1.2 billion (about $1.3billion) in military aid to Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.
